On the surface, this looks like a pretty faithful interpretation of a tactical backpack. It has thick, sturdy fabric, with straps and velcro everywhere, and looks like it will last a while. But it does cut a few corners, and there are a couple of questionable design decisions.1) Most of the interior material is thin, with some kind of coating that is probably there for water resistance, and feels cheap, like something on a cheap children’s backpack that isn’t designed to make it though the school year.2) As some have already mentioned, the side pockets are pretty small. They’ll hold a soda can or a smallish water bottle, but if you’re looking for easy access to a Hydroflask or Stanley, look elsewhere.3) For some reason, the padded laptop sleeve is on the OUTSIDE of the bag. There is another pocket inside the bag that is large enough for a laptop, but it’s made of the fabric mentioned above. I *guess* that’s OK in terms of easy access, but it’s not very protective or theft-proof.4) This issue is specific to the bag I got, which is the “rosy leopard” print. In the picture, it looked like the zippers were the same light pink as the inside of the leopard spots. Instead, they are big, thick, white zippers with large pulls that don’t match anything else on the bag. Obviously I didn’t get this bag with visual subtlety in mind. I was deliberately aiming for a femme punk aesthetic. But that one design choice makes it look cheap and cartoony instead. Black zippers would have looked a lot better.
This is a very well made backpack. The zippers are heavy duty zippers, each of the pockets has additional pockets inside to help keep your things organized and there is a padded pouch that sits against your back that is perfect for a tablet. There are two pouches for water bottles that are bit enough to carry a 32oz bottle so you can carry plenty of water with you on your hike. The waist strap is plenty long. I am a larger person and can’t use the waist strap on most packs but this one is long enough for me to use! YAY! The chest strap is also long enough and adjustable enough to be comfortable across my larger chest, which is something I usually have trouble with. Overall, I am very happy with this pack.
Lots of pockets and has thick padded straps. The laptop pocket is not very padded so I took 1 star off for that. I like the mesh zippered pocket inside the largest pocket. There is a hole to run headphone or charge cord into the largest pocket. It’s made from a decently thick canvas. I feel this backpack will hold up for a long time.
Heavy duty material and water resistance. Tons of compartments, pockets, loops and straps. Dual easy-pull and non-binding zippers are a welcome feature. The main compartment unzips fully so the pack can be opened clamshell style. There’s also a large, padded, flat, hidden pocket between the main compartment and the wearer. Nicely padded shoulder straps with sternum and waist straps. Also features a carry handle. One thing that surprised me was how small the water bottle pockets are. No way are you getting a liter bottle in there. I like nearly everything else.
To start off, I absolutely love the color of this backpack. The pink is so vibrant. This is well made. Just when you think you can¡¯t find another compartment, you find another. The main compartment is very roomy. Then it has another layer and there are pockets in that area. There are straps to hold a water bottle. On the outside you have Velcro straps that are sewn in a ay that you can insert tools and things through them. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable to wear. This isn¡¯t as big as other backpacks but it¡¯s just the right size for comfort and there is a lot going on with this, to where you aren¡¯t lacking in space to take things along on your hike or wherever you go. You could fit clothes and shoes and other supplies without any problem. I highly recommend this well made backpack. And again, I absolutely love the colors. You will get compliments from others when they see you wearing this.
