Built in exterior water bottle pockets on each side, top and bottom side compression buckles for attaching extra gear (bed roll, yoga mat, raincoat), a full molle strap rack throughout for attaching carabiners or pens or goodness knows what kind of little add-on pocket you find. Zippers are smooth and work perfect. The shoulder straps are padded and heavy duty.
